What I Did on My Summer Vacation

It's been a good summer~ hot, lazy days and booming afternoon thunderstorms. It's been a time to live slowly for a little while and refill the soul. It's a time to get far away from work and home, to go to the top of the mountain. It's a season to nurture and grow and prepare to harvest your blessings.

Honestly, I haven't been doing much of anything at all. :) I've cleaned out and organized closets and cabinets and other projects around the house, painted a tiny bit, and just enjoyed being with Cat and Sam. Cat got her driver's license just last week (eek!), so we've been on lots of practice drives. We seem to usually end up at thrift stores or garage sales~ fun girl times! Our little garden is doing pretty well. We've been using the herbs for over a month now, and drying chamomile for tea. We've had some zucchini and strawberries, and I can hardly wait for the tomatoes! I've spent entirely too much time reading and napping in the hammock, nearly making my way through the Colorado history shelves of the library. Mining camps, ghost towns and local ghost stories have been my summertime obsession. We took a trip to Leadville for a few days~ SO much more about that coming soon! :)

Back to school, back to work. I am ready for it all with new ideas and energy, and am so grateful for this sweet summer~
