Hellooooooo... here I am! I can't believe it's been nearly two months since I've written here. :o That was so long ago~ Thanksgiving, holiday happenings, the kids' and Gil's vacations, Christmas EVERYTHING, company, parties, and even some paintings! It was all very lovely, but it's good to be able to play here again. :) The one sad thing that happened last month was that it was time for Japhy Ryder, our dear friend and little dharma bum, to cross the rainbow bridge. He had a good, long, loved life.

9x12 inch oval, acrylic on wood

Such a handsome puss! I so enjoyed painting this, and Nimh's portrait a few months ago, that I hope to take commissions~ pet fantasy-style? I may make up flyers to put in the vet's offices, groomers' and kennels around town. Hehee, could be fun! :)

Last month I painted two elf girls with berries for Christmas (I'll put them up on the sidebar to the right) and a cd cover(!) for Mountain Standard Time (link over on the right). These guys have worked so hard to set themselves up for an awesome year, and I'm really excited to create something for and with them. I can't wait to see (and hear) it all done! :)

It's been a beautiful winter with a few (to several) inches of snow every week or two, just enough. Four inches yesterday! Deer have been helping themselves to whatever they can find in the yard.

That buck ate all the seed in both of the bird feeders~ piggie! I don't want to purposely feed them, but I want the birds to eat there, too. What to do?

One last thing, we saw this rainbow corona around the moon last weekend.

Amazing! Wishing you all a blessed new year full of rainbows, day and night~

there you are! I missed you!! OMG, that cat painting is AMAZING!!! I need you to paint my pup Henry as a dashing young gentleman! Wow, that cat is seriously gorgeous...
Dont know what to tell ya about the deer...I guess just hang the food meant for birdies up high! Or get a mounted deer head and hang it on the feeder and hope the deer get the hint, ;)

Haha! I'll stand at the window and give them stern looks, but I don't have the heart to chase them away.

And thank you! That painting cracks me up every time I look at it. I'm thinking of offering miniatures (like 4x6?), too. Henry would look quite handsome in a Mr. Darcy-like ensemble. ;) If you're really interested, maybe we could do a trade or something sometime? Have a great weekend! :)

Oh yes!! lets do! He will be so dashing....he is very "Mr. Darcy" very quiet and loyal...and perhaps a bit of a snob (he does love his argyle sweater...)
Email me girl ;)

Hi, I just found your blog via Julia Guthries. Your work is amazing, I am in so love with your style!

My hubby and I were planning a move to Colorado Springs last year due to his job but things changed and it didn't happen. It was a bit disappointing because we both love the surrounding area very much (and would still love to relocate there someday.)

Anyway, just wanted to say hello and that I'm happy to have found your blog and look forward to seeing more of your work and life.
Take care,
Kathleen
