Friday evening, Sam, Gretel and I went to the top of the hill to watch the sunset. We were distracted by something huge that took off from a nearby tree and flew into the woods. We thought it was an owl, so we went in to follow it. Twice, we found it and it took off again. We finally caught up to it and it was a red-tailed hawk. He called out keeHAAAA, another one far away answered with a keeehaaaa, he called back and then flew off, swooping down right over our heads. Cool.

Yesterday I worked for a while on the background of Nimh's portrait and last night I watched a documentary on PBS about Kit Carson. I've been painting for a few hours already today, but I think the hammock is calling me now. Sounds good. :)
